GUMP

Web Design
Project Overview
GUMP is a mass mailing and messaging, and campaign creation application designed to simplify and streamline the process of sending targeted Email, WhatsApp, Viber or SMS campaigns. It provides users with a comprehensive platform to create, manage, and track email campaigns, enabling businesses to effectively reach their audience and achieve their marketing goals. The application offers user-friendly features, customizable templates, and analytics to optimize campaign performance.
My Contributions
As a UI/UX designer for the "GUMP" mass mailing and messaging campaign creation application, my contributions involve conducting user research, designing visually appealing and intuitive user interfaces, creating a clear information architecture, developing wireframes and prototypes, conducting usability testing, and collaborating with the development team. My focus was on understanding user needs, creating an engaging and efficient design, and optimizing the user experience. Through my research, design iterations, and collaboration, I played a vital role in creating a user-friendly application that simplifies the process of creating and managing mass mailing and messaging campaigns.

Persona

The user flow for the GUMP mass mailing, messaging and campaign creation application  involve the following steps:
User Registration: Users can sign up for GUMP by providing their details, creating an account, and verifying their email address.
Audience Segmentation: Users can import their contact lists or integrate with CRM systems to segment their audience based on various criteria such as demographics, interests, or previous engagement.
Campaign Creation: Users can create customized email, WhatsApp, Viber, SMS campaigns using a drag-and-drop editor, pre-designed templates, or HTML coding. They can personalize content, add images, and define campaign settings such as subject lines, sender details, and scheduling.
Email Testing: Users can add test emails or test numbers to test campaigns across different devices and email clients to ensure proper rendering and functionality.
Campaign Sending: Users can select their target audience segments, review the campaign settings, and send the emails or messages to the desired recipients. They may also schedule campaigns for automated sending at specific times.
Campaign Fallback: Fallback can be scheduled if the email is not opened or clicked through other mediums such as WhatsApp or SMS. Similarly if the message is not delivered or seen in WhatsApp then other fallback can be added.
Checker & Maker: The user assigned to role as a maker can create campaign and send for approval which the checker will approve and schedule the campaign.
Analytics and Reporting: Users can track the performance of their campaigns by monitoring metrics such as open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates. They can access visual reports and analytics to gain insights and optimize future campaigns.

Challenges

As a UI/UX designer working on the "GUMP" mass mailing and messaging campaign creation application, I encountered various challenges and gained valuable insights throughout the design process.

One of the challenges I faced was simplifying the complexity of campaign creation. I focused on designing an intuitive user interface that streamlined the process while balancing the need for advanced features and customization options. Through iterative design and user feedback, I refined the interface to make it more user-friendly and efficient.

Another challenge was managing large datasets. I tackled this by designing an interface that allowed users to easily import, organize, and manage their contact lists and message content. I ensured the interface could handle large volumes of data without compromising performance, providing users with a seamless experience.

Deliverability and spam prevention were also significant challenges. To address this, I incorporated design features and provided guidance that helped users create campaigns that complied with spam regulations and optimized email deliverability. By considering industry best practices, I aimed to enhance the chances of successful campaign delivery.

Learnings

Throughout this journey, I learned the importance of putting users at the center of the design process. Conducting user research, usability testing, and gathering feedback helped me better understand user needs and preferences, leading to a more user-centric application.

I also gained insights into creating streamlined workflows that guided users through the campaign creation process, reducing errors and improving productivity. Data visualization played a significant role in presenting campaign performance metrics and analytics, allowing users to make informed decisions and derive actionable insights.
Collaboration with the development team and stakeholders was key to addressing challenges effectively. Regular feedback loops and design reviews helped refine the interface, address challenges, and ensure the final product met user expectations.

Lastly, I incorporated accessibility considerations into the design, ensuring that users with disabilities could access and use the application. By implementing features such as proper color contrast, alternative text for images, and keyboard navigation, I aimed to create an inclusive experience for all users.

In conclusion, my journey as a UI/UX designer for the "GUMP" application was filled with challenges and valuable learnings. By addressing complexity, managing large datasets, ensuring deliverability, focusing on mobile responsiveness, and embracing user-centric design, I aimed to create a user-friendly and effective mass mailing and messaging campaign creation application that empowered users to create successful campaigns.
